Hyatt ranks first among these hotel chains, and Marriott ranks second. All five contenders were evaluated on the same published criteria, and their weighted scores determine the order from highest to lowest.
IMPORTANT CONTEXTHotel quality varies substantially within every chain and even within the same brand. Compare the specific property's recent reviews, location, resort or destination fees, cancellation terms, and total price before booking.

Hyatt
Best overall by weighted score
Hyatt's smaller footprint is the clear constraint, but World of Hyatt's unusually useful points and elite treatment combine with a strong portfolio from Hyatt Place through Park Hyatt. For travelers who can find Hyatt properties where they need them, the program creates the best blend of stay quality and repeat-guest value in this group.
Marriott's enormous global network and unusually broad brand ladder make it the easiest chain to use across very different destinations and budgets. Bonvoy points are less valuable per point than Hyatt's and elite execution can vary, but the combination of coverage, luxury depth, and practical options is unmatched for frequent international travel.
Hilton leads the current ACSI parent-company lodging benchmark and offers an excellent mix of familiar brands, a broad network, and polished direct-booking tools. Hilton Honors points have a lower unit value, but frequent promotions and wide availability make the program easy to use in practice, particularly for U.S.-based travelers.
IHG combines Holiday Inn's practical reach with stronger lifestyle and luxury options such as Kimpton, InterContinental, and Six Senses. The network is highly useful and IHG One Rewards has improved, though the average stay and elite recognition are less consistent across the portfolio than the three groups ranked above it.
Accor is especially relevant in Europe and parts of Asia, with a portfolio spanning ibis, Novotel, Fairmont, Raffles, and distinctive lifestyle brands. ALL rewards are comparatively cash-like and easy to understand, but the chain is less useful for many U.S.-centric itineraries and offers fewer outsized award redemptions.
Three independent write-ins unlock an honorable mention. The 10 strongest active mentions are shown; inactive mentions archive after 12 months. At 25 monthly votes, a contender enters a scoring review for possible top-five promotion.

WHY THIS ORDER?
THE RECEIPTS, NOT THE MYSTERY.
SummaRank compared current information from American Customer Satisfaction Index, J.D. Power, NerdWallet and the linked official or research references. Each contender was scored independently on the same five-part scorecard: Stay quality 25%, Footprint 25%, Loyalty value 25%, Brand range 15%, Booking 10%. The weighted total determines the published order from highest to lowest, and verified community voting can make a limited, visible adjustment.
